The player character of Green Thread of Fate is aromantic and asexual. You can choose both their name and pronouns by selecting an option or entering your own. There are several queer NPCs, Eury, who is also aro ace and Tsui, who is genderfluid and who has a pronoun badge that changes from he/him to she/her. Tsui specifies that 'they' is also okay if they are absent, or their badge can't be seen. There are also two nonbinary characters - Farah, who uses xe/hir pronouns and Tal who uses he/they. The game focuses on platonic bonds rather than romantic ones.

Though this visual novel is set in a world without queer discrimination, the game includes content warnings for references to discrimination, coarse language, mild violence and flashing and shaking visual effects.
