League of Legends has some subtle and implied representation of queerness in characters' background narratives.

Varus has recently had his story reworked to describe how he raised himself from the dead. To do so, he used the bodies of two male lovers—Valmar and Kai—whose souls are now trapped inside his mind and try to stop him from killing innocent people. To confirm this, there is an official video, two comics, and two short stories on the Riot website.

Additionally, Tamara—a background NPC—has been implied to be same-gender attracted. In one story, she considers 'letting another woman sleep in her arms'.

Neeko, a woman who openly flirts with other women in the game, identifies as a lesbian. This has been confirmed by one of the Riot writers.
