The protagonist of Pendula Swing, Brialynne, was was married to a woman for many years. Her wife is now deceased, and it is possible for Brialynne to romance characters of multiple genders (some of whom do not require exclusivity!). During the first chapter of the game, Brialynne also meets a gay male orc who is initially reluctant to share the nature of his relationship with his boyfriend, as he has had negative reactions to his sexuality in the past. Brialynne can reassure him that she was married to a woman, so she understands his struggle. The world itself is also extremely diverse, featuring various gay and lesbian couples, as well as omni characters (the equivalent of nonbinary characters in this world).
