Although Yonder: The Cloud Catcher Chronicles requires you to select a binary gender at the beginning of the game, it becomes clear quickly that options are not restricted for the character based on this selection. All hair, facial hair, and clothing options are available to be worn by all characters, and there are several NPCs throughout the game who have traditionally masculine or feminine names, but whose appearance conflicts with traditional gender roles. One quest line requires the player-character to help Katie grow an impressive beard.
