I was just not ready for the explicit nature of this game, even though it told me numerous times that it was going to be explicit and then gave me plenty of opportunities to make it less explicit. I thought I’d be fine. I thought I was strong. It turns out that I was in fact not strong, and that playing LIAB has opened my eyes to a whole new world that I was not ready to see. Technically, the game is about being a lesbian impersonating her twin brother on a cruise with all his classmates as she tries to win what is essentially a popularity contest, but you quickly learn that this brother of yours keeps some interesting company. More than one of the girls you meet will be interested in having sex with you, and doing so usually involves ropes… and that’s probably enough to give you an idea of what you’re in for.
You should play this if…
You’re less of a boring vanilla person than me, and you’re looking for a dating sim/visual novel with BDSM elements. The game does remind you about consent, and there are plenty of options for turning the explicit content off, which might help others. I will stress – this game wasn’t for me, but I’m glad it exists for others. There aren’t too many of its kind, and I’m sure there are plenty out there who will be glad to have it. Just… maybe make sure that you play it alone.
