War of the Lilies: An Eons Lost Story

A cast of seven actors stands on a stage. A dialogue box at the bottom says 'All right, everybody! This is it! Opening night!'
I love a good stage show, but I love them even more when they’re about women dismantling the heteronormative rules of their kingdom.

War of the Lilies is just that - a visual novel told by characters performing a play about the founding of a nation by their lesbian ruler. The queen, Lord Olive, needs to find a new way to bring peace to the kingdom after she refuses to marry a male knight from the opposing lands, and instead confesses her love for one of her female friends (who is also a knight from the opposing lands). Because people are terrible, everyone seems to struggle with that concept, so she and her lady love are forced to go on a short but epic journey. They even get to teach some people about accepting those different to them.

You should play this if…

You want an adorable visual novel/occasional RPG about a badass ruler and her cute lesbian romance. Honestly, the way this thing is told is seriously cute and wholesome – it definitely made me smile!
