The space/sky lines are blurry. Anyway. Though it ends up in space, this short visual novel starts on Earth, where Azure is a bored schoolgirl with an ‘ace detective’ for a father. I wanted this to be a much more important plot point than it was given that particular choice of words, sadly it’s a point that’s largely played down. The main thing is that her dad is absent and she has no hobbies, so schoolgirl Azure is not so fond of her life – until the Queen of Mars makes her an interesting proposition. To say much more would be to spoil what is a short experience, but I will say that the sex scene (which is entirely optional and can be censored) is one of the most genuine, gentle scenes that I’ve seen (language is weird) and the whole story, despite a shaky start, is actually pretty cute.
You should play this if…
You’re interested in short visual novels about lesbians sort of breaking down gender norms? That’s perhaps a big call, but there is some clever language stuff happening here. Though I found it quite sweet, there is some potential consent issues here that could be triggering for some people, so if it’s a particularly sensitive subject for you than proceed with caution.
